Yes, I watch too much reality tv. What can I say? It's nice to get a big dose of "reality" after the reality of working and/or watching my kiddo all day. So here's the rundown of the shows I am watching...
*Dancing With The Stars: The don't always find the biggest stars or even "stars" for this, do they? My favorite this season is Kyle Massey, he is funny and looks like he will be pretty good! Jennifer Grey is good. Rick Fox and Bristol Palin really surprised me. I can't say I was too surprised to see The Hoff go last week. Honestly, though, I thought it would be Margaret Cho, and even though she improved this week, I still think she will be next to go.
*Hell's Kitchen: 16 more "chefs" competing to win a spiffy job with a high salary! I am constantly amazed at some of the bad stuff they manage to do. There have only been 2 episodes so far and I am already grossed out by some of the stuff they have cooked. I mean, I am no chef by any stretch of the imagination, but even I can tell the difference between raw and cooked! I also know not to send food out looking unpresentable, no matter how tasty it may be. Doesn't take a genius. I don't have too much of a favorite yet, but I really want Raj and Sabrina to go away. Especially Sabrina. She isn't that good of a cook, she thinks she's better than everyone else, and I sort of think they keep her around just for the ratings because she is drama.
*America's Next Top Model: I am sort of bummed that they split up the sisters, Chris and Terra. Terra got a makeover she didn't even like and then they sent her home right there at the salon before this last episode's photo shoot! So there were 2 eliminations that episode! I still really like Lexie (she reminds me of my brother's girlfriend for some reason), but I think Ann or Esther will probably win this one. I'm guessing Ann. I wouldn't mind that, she does a good job and she is just the right amount of geeky.
*The Amazing Race: I've never watched before, but thanks to a cool YouTube guy named KevJumba, I am watching. Kevin (KevJumba) and his dad are competing this season! Since I think Kevin and his dad are pretty funny guys, I had to tune in to see this. And wouldn't you know it, they started in Gloucester, Massachusetts? They showed a sign that said Beverly on it (where I lived several years ago), and I was like, "I miss home!" My husband and I were cracking up at the teams getting lost in Boston traffic because we are used to it and he knows where all that stuff is. Poor husband got a second dose of the "I miss home!"s when the contestants flew from Boston to London. My husband grew up in England (but he's not British so no spiffy accent, booooo) so he was sitting there enjoying the show but also doing a bit of homesick sulking.
Anyway, that really has nothing to do with the show. It was entertaining. I think I am hooked. And of course, I am rooting for Kevin and Michael- GO TEAM JUMBA! Also, that poor lady who got nailed in the face with a watermelon-OUCH! That chick is manlier than any man because she got right back up and started hurling watermelons, even though she was in pain and couldn't see straight. By the time she got to the checkpoint, she couldn't feel her face! Superman's got nothing on her!
...So that's what I've been watching lately for reality competition type shows. I find that sort of stuff really entertaining for some reason. Sometimes I wish I could be on something like that, but then I remember, I don't want to do all sorts of grueling, tiring, degrading, or gross challenges! Besides, it's too hard to become a star just to go on Dancing With The Stars. Anyone who knows me knows I'm too lazy to put in that sort of effort.

Sesame Street: A YouTube Interview with Elmo
Check it out! Chris from Hooper's Store on Sesame Street interviewed Elmo with questions sent in by YouTube users. Sadly, my question didn't get enough votes to make the cut, but the interview is awesome, so you should watch it anyway! Elmo is really funny in this. This is from Sesame Street's official YouTube channel.
Also, I am so glad that the new season of Sesame Street starts next week. We have last season on DVR, and I am getting really bored of it, I think I have most of it memorized because Curly Girly always wants to watch it! Anyone else excited? And tell me what you think of the Elmo interview!

Hi, everyone!
So I just discovered something nifty about Blogger. I didn't know you could check and see how many people visit your blog and what country they come from and all that jazz. I know probably most of the views are me and my little sister, but I was surprised to learn that people from all over the place have somehow (and probably mistakenly) ended up in my little blog. I just want to say greetings to all of you- I noticed a few from Canada and Russia, and one from Slovenia, I think it was! I hope you all enjoyed ending up here, and if you didn't, I'm sorry my page wasn't what you were looking for. Have a great day, everyone!

Make up your mind, Elmo!
Yay! Another fun YouTube clip for you to watch! This is a clip from Sesame Street's upcoming season, and was *supposed* to air on New Year's Eve. However, due to many complaints from parents, it's been pulled from the episode. It's Katy Perry singing a Sesame Street-ized version of her hit "Hot and Cold" with everyone's favorite furry red monster, Elmo! Parents have a problem with how low cut her top appears (if you look close, it goes up pretty high.) Enjoy, and tell me what you think about it! This video is from Sesame Street's official YouTube channel.
For real, the Sesame Street people should have put something that covered a little more on Katy Perry, even if her chest isn't really about to pop out of her dress. But that's not even the part that bothered me the most. It's the bad acting combined with Elmo being sort of wishy-washy and mean to his playmate! I mean really, who says they want to play dress-up and then doesn't dress up, leaving their friend dressed like a stripper-bride in the middle of street without telling them they want to play tag instead?
For shame, Elmo, for shame!

80s video dating dudes!
So I saw part of this video on RayWilliamJohnson's YouTube channel (he posts funny clips and talks about them), and I had to go find and watch the whole thing! It's clips from an 80s video dating service. Behold the 80s awesomeness:
I could tell you how funny I thought this was. But instead, I will tell you that I am glad I have never done video dating. I would be just as nervous and just as dorky. I've never done dating sites either. I'm sure profiles of those will show up in a whole bunch of years and make a whole new generation of people look silly.
I'm not really sure who thought that keeping dating videos from 25 years-ish ago was a good idea. The funny thing about this one is that Ellen Degeneres showed this video on her show last year, and actually tracked down 3 of the guys! And I know you're wondering- 2 of the 3 guys are still single.

Give me McNuggets!
Ok, here's another video for you all to enjoy. Scenario: Lady is drunk. Lady wants McNuggets. McDonald's in making breakfast and doesn't have McNuggets. Drunk lady almost turns into The Incredible Hulk.
Boy am I glad that this never happened to me in my fast food days! I'm also glad that this doesn't happen to me at my current job. I have been yelled at (with some colorful language thrown in for good measure), I have been insulted, and I have seen objects thrown, but I have never been physically threatened. Let's hope it stays that way!

Too skinny!
I was watching America's Next Top Model tonight, and saw the skinniest girl. Now, I know models are skinny, but 5'10" and 110 lbs? THAT is gross. And not just gross because skinny people freak me out, but gross because it is unhealthy. They had to pick her final picture because it looked like the only one without any ribs showing out her front or back. She bragged about her low fat diet and how all the other girls weren't talented. But guess who got sent home? I am happy that she won't be continuing on. I just hope she goes to eat a cheeseburger or 500 and stops walking around looking like a Jack Skellington Barbie.
Granted, I myself am skinny and have a few ribbies showing front and back. But I'm not on a low fat diet or trying to be a model. I'm just naturally thin and even when I was 9 months pregnant and had gained 30 lbs., I still had ribs showing. Just the way I'm built, I guess!
This week, I think I've decided I'm rooting for Lexie. She seems normal and she reminds me of someone I know.

ELMO PARTY!
We just had the Elmo themed birthday for Curly Girly this weekend. It turned out really cute, and the kiddos had a lot of fun, so I'd like to share some pictures!
And finally, a couple of shots of the birthday girl on her special day!

Outside of invitations and envelopes![]()
|
The invitations, banner, and goody bag tags were all done using my Cricut. Took a lot of cutting, gluing, and glitter, but it was worth it! Next up, yummy yummy cake! We did a main cake that was red velvet with homemade buttercream frosting, and cupcakes that were white with homemade buttercream frosting.

Finished cake! My husband did a great job! |

The cupcakes I frosted didn't look as nice. |
Here's a few photos of the decorations and other assorted stuff...

Balloons and the goody bags. |

Closeup of the goody bags. Chock full of Elmo goodness! |

2 rooms had red and orange streamers and red balloons. |

She wore a pretty Elmo dress!

Opening her presents. The book there has her picture throughout the story! |

Tried to get a family picture. Didn't work well. At least you can see we all wore Elmo! |
And there you have it- One awesome Elmo party! There were so many more things I wanted to do with decorations and food that we didn't get to, but the kids (6 there including the birthday girl) had an awesome time and left full of pizza and cake and tuckered out! Don't know how we will compete with this for next year when she turns three! :)

ANTM Cycle 15!
Hooray! My favorite reality show is back for another season! I love America's Next Top Model. I don't even know why. I don't want to be a model, I don't look like a model, and I'm not really high maintenance. I guess it's just interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes of the fashion industry. It may not be really "behind the scenes," so to speak, but it does provide a glimpse of a world that I know nothing about.
I don't have any real favorites this season, but I do like the two sisters that will be competing, Terra and Chris. And of course, I have to root for Esther since she's a Boston chick! Anyway, I'm glad my guilty pleasure is back, and my husband was even watching with me tonight, haha!

Ask Elmo!
Check it out! Elmo posted a video on YouTube so that people can ask him questions! How cool is that? Answer: Pretty darn cool!
And yes, I did indeed ask Elmo a question. There are so many things I want to ask him! Of course, some of them aren't appropriate questions...but I did ask him how he got his groovy dance moves! The questions with the most votes are the ones that get answered by Elmo, so if you have the time, please go to the Sesame Street YouTube page and vote in the "Moderator" box on the top right of the page. Once in Moderator, search for "dance" and my question will show up. My name on there is "duckyone" and I asked if he had to take dance lessons or was just born with awesome dance moves. Curly Girly would love it if Elmo answered my question, because she loves loves LOVES! Elmo. So please vote!
Thanks in advance!
